Winter 2007-2008: Need for more gauges: My D.I.Y. Rally Pack
SO, Few extra gauges needed, RPM- Volts- Mechanical Oil pressure.
From ebay you can find aluminium piece what replases orginal speedo , and gives to you 4 extra spaces for gauges..
That is grazy !!! NO way !!!! Oh my god, that kills car spirit, orginal looooooong speedometer is so cooool,
It just can`t be replaced !!!! So, I saw 64 mercury ca 10 yrs, and noticed that
contains 4 extra gauges below speedo . Then I thought, some day I will
try to do similar setup!- in winter 07/08 someone sold similar d-i-y- setup for big money at ebay.
So, I did it my self too!. No modifications needed to orginal cast speedo/ gauges housing.

So, I need some extra gauges.
I have been dreaming about this kind of 3 extra gauge setup for last 10 years!!!
I saw at ebay that seller reedandrail
sells that kind of setup.
So if someone can do it, I will try too.
So, it took about 40 hours, 3 centerpieces, 5 gauge cups..
I used CD cardic #466066 2" gauge cups, first I removed "leg"
then I cut it.. with Stanley 199 Fixed blade utility knife,
few different pliers, even sheetmetal cutter, and grinder with 80 /120 grade paper.
same tool with that center section.
NO need for bondo or paints, just be careful, to cut ALMOST correct shape holes for that center section,
and EXACTLY correct "holes" on those gauge cups.
Center pices is quite easy to do, cups are not.. Also finding correct angle for those cups is important,
both ways, horinzontally and vertically.
First I used orginal old center piece, it was too hard, it went to pieces.
2nd piece from Carpenter was success.. Total of 6 cups, and 3 center sections for
one good setup. Not perfect but good enough !!!
Pieces in pictures are those damaged ones..

Painful job, but I managed to do it.
Notice 200 Mph speedo (just kiddin, it is kilometer speedo)
New chrome bezels and speedo lense I got from Dennis Carpenter Restorations
Here is first cardboard model what I made, I feeled after that, I can do it , LOL
