FoMoCo made almost 1 million Full Size Fords in modelyear 1964, convertibles were most unpopular, only 37311 Galaxie 500 and 15169 Galaxie 500 XL convertibles were built. Still those convertible figure sales were awesome, how many full-size convertibles are sold today? Earliest registration what I know is that my Galaxie was registered in Los Angeles in 1988. Win is little bit odd.. Very high consecutive number 301XXX means that car is built in July 1964? Somekind of special order car, built in Mahvah Factory. Very rare option in this car: Swing-Away steering setup ! Not so many convertibles known with Swing Away setup! In 1992 This galaxie was shiped to northern Europe, Finland. I bought this galaxie in april 1993  Shape was then, barely drivable, worn engine, little frame rust, whole trunk was gone, rear quaters were rusted through, & almost every cast parts were badly pitted.. Fresh green paint job and fresh green with white piping interior and new white top fabric was installed. Steel wheels with 3 Pontiac Motor Division Hub caps and one unknown hubcap. Car is NOT frame off concourse restored, and perhaps not ever gonna be.. No time, no space and no money to do it. And it is not neccessary too Within next years I will redone whole frontend, and put current engine to pieces too.
Also Orginal XL hubcaps and 14" wheels are in my garage. Cars`s orginal color was metallic dark green. Earlier colors were: metallic dark red, metallic dark blue. 
New wheels, actually ancient 45 yrs old steel wheels with 205-75-14 tires, and stock XL hubcaps. New top installed, I get Kee autotop from rockauto, speedy deliver again, rock rock ! May 2010: Salocruising:
